I started my career as a delivery driver and have gained experience in various fields, including deliveries to company-owned stores, wholesale sales, order processing, and collection and delivery operations
After that, I gained experience in the product department, where I was involved in product procurement, product selection, and pricing. Currently, as the head of the product department, I support the organization from both a product strategy and talent development perspective
Leveraging over 30 years of experience working directly with the field, we continue to support the strength of Tomizawa Shouten 's products

Why did you join Tomizawa Shouten ?
I was 19 years old when I joined the company, and during my probationary period, my seniors taught me very carefully, and I felt that it was a company with a warm and welcoming atmosphere
I felt that the collaborative teamwork environment and supportive atmosphere suited me, and that's why I wanted to work here for a long time

The work I am currently doing
Currently, I work in the Merchandising Department, primarily handling tasks such as product procurement, selection, and pricing
My day starts with checking sales figures and emails, organizing my schedule, and after the morning meeting, I handle desk work and business negotiations with manufacturers
in particular,
- Product selection (sales promotion/new products)
- Price revision response (price increase/decrease)
- Product verification (optimization of taste, cost, and selling price)
- Business negotiations with manufacturers (approximately 2 hours per day on average)
- Internal meetings (approximately 1 hour per day)
I am involved in a wide range of tasks, including those mentioned above
It plays a crucial role in supporting the company's values by ensuring that products are delivered to customers at the right price

The interesting aspects of this job
The most rewarding aspect of working in the product department is seeing the products you've introduced accepted by customers and experiencing tangible results in terms of sales and customer feedback
When I'm working in the store, I sometimes get direct feedback from customers.
The moment I see the products I've worked on actually in the hands of customers and feel their joy is incredibly rewarding.Furthermore, the reason I've been able to continue working here for over 30 years is because I find this job so interesting.
The market and customer needs are constantly changing, but there's no end to product knowledge, and even after being involved for a long time, I still make new discoveries.
I feel that the appeal of this job lies in being able to continue learning and deliver better products to our customers. -

Throughout my career, I have faced a variety of environmental changes
During the Great East Japan Earthquake, we experienced the difficulty of supplying goods as intended due to the situation of our suppliers and inventory constraints, even as orders surged on our e-commerce site.
Furthermore, in situations of significant environmental change, such as business expansion or acquisitions, we needed to make decisions quickly and move forward even when we didn't have enough information.Through these experiences, I feel that I have cultivated the ability to calmly assess situations and make judgments, as well as the ability to adapt flexibly to change
The work in the product department is one that constantly deals with change.
That's why I believe that being able to grow while continuously taking on new challenges is one of the most interesting aspects of this job. -

My final goal (before retirement) is to be in a position as the store manager of the main branch, where I can personally express my gratitude to the customers who have supported me for so many years
