  • Career change
PROFILE

Joined the company in 2025

with the desire to "work in a food-related field."Shoutenshe joined
Currently, she is in charge of e-commerce operations, and is challenging herself to increase sales and improve the customer experience with a great deal of autonomy.

  • Why did you join Tomizawa Shouten ?

After graduating from a confectionery school, I didn't pursue a career in the food industry, but I always harbored the desire to work in a food-related field someday

In my previous job, I was involved in marketing and e-commerce operations, so I decided to change jobs because I wanted to utilize that experience to work in the food industry

Tomizawa Shouten is a familiar company that I've used before, and as someone involved in the food industry, I naturally became interested in them

The main reason I ultimately decided to join the company was the level of autonomy I would be given.
I felt that each individual is entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, and that it's an environment where I can think for myself and take on challenges. I decided to join because I wanted to showcase my abilities here.

  • The work I am currently doing

I am currently in charge of all aspects of e-commerce operations

addition to planning and executing sales promotion strategies while monitoring sales and profits, I handle a wide range of e-commerce-related tasks, including product registration, banner creation, email and LINE distribution, and advertising management. I am
also involved in optimizing the overall service, such as reviewing shipping methods and improving customer service flows.

A key feature of our system is that each mall has a designated person in charge, and they are entrusted with the operation of their assigned area.
Because their decisions directly impact sales and profits, they are constantly working while keeping track of the numbers.

  • The interesting aspects of this job

The appeal of this job is that your strategies directly impact sales and results

Within the goal of "increasing sales," there is an environment where you can make your own decisions to implement coupon strategies, adjust advertising, and more, and continuously improve through the PDCA cycle

On the other hand, with a great deal of discretion comes great responsibility.
I have actually experienced situations where I caused inconvenience to customers due to errors in setting shipping fees, and had to handle each case individually. From that experience, I learned the importance of incorporating preventative measures into a system, which has been a valuable asset.
Currently, I thoroughly manage tasks and conduct reviews, and share them with the team to improve overall accuracy.

Also, when I first joined the company, I was sometimes confused by the breadth and speed of decision-making, but through my work, I have gradually become able to make decisions that take into account "sales, profits, and costs."

  • Things that feel typical of Tomizawa Shouten

The team is calm, highly cooperative, and easy to work with.
While individuals are often assigned many tasks, there is a system in place to provide strong support when needed.

The company as a whole has a calm atmosphere, which allows me to focus on my work with peace of mind

  • Things I want to try in the future

Currently, I'm mainly in charge of Rakuten, but I'm also involved in launching new online marketplaces, so I want to improve my skills to manage multiple marketplaces simultaneously

In the future, we aim to develop individuals who can oversee external e-commerce platforms, including FBA (*) and Yodobashi, and contribute to the business from a broader perspective

    *FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon):
    where Amazon
handles everything from product storage and shipping to customer service.

To those considering applying

This job is suitable for people who are willing to take on new challenges and who can think and act independently

The e-commerce industry is constantly competitive, and other companies are continuously implementing new strategies, so maintaining the status quo will not lead to continued success.
While much of the work is done individually, collaboration with other departments, such as customer support and logistics, is essential.
Therefore, a proactive attitude of thinking independently, experimenting, and continuously improving is crucial.

on the other hand,

  • Those who want a work style where they just wait for instructions
  • People who tend to shift responsibility to others
  • People who aren't very interested in food

For some, it may be an environment where they find it difficult to feel a sense of fulfillment or personal growth

If you're someone who isn't afraid of failure and can keep challenging yourself with your own ideas, this is an environment where you can grow significantly.
If you have a desire to "think for yourself and take on challenges" and "love food," I'm sure you'll find this job interesting. Let's work together toShoutenmake
