PROFILE

Joined the company in 2025 as a mid-career hire

with a desire to be more deeply involved in building the company's foundationShoutenI joined
Currently, I am mainly working on recruitment and creating systems that support the growth of people and organizations.

  • Why did you join Tomizawa Shouten ?

Having gained experience in a wide range of tasks at my previous job, I felt a desire to be more involved in building the foundation of the company, which led me to consider changing jobs

I chose this company because I was attracted to the environment where I could be involved in building the accounting system from scratch, as it was still in the process of being developed. I've always enjoyed standardizing and streamlining business processes, and I wanted to test my abilities in this area

The timing of IPO preparations and in-house development, along with hearing the CEO's vision directly, encouraged me to join the company, and I decided that I wanted to take on this challenge

  • The work I am currently doing

I joined the company as an accountant, and have since moved to the Human Resources department, where I am responsible for all aspects of HR, primarily focusing on recruitment

My main responsibilities include conducting job interviews, managing recruitment platforms, and managing various projects.
During off-peak seasons, I conduct 1-2 interviews per week, while during peak seasons, I handle 2-3 interviews per day. I manage 3-4 recruitment platforms, being involved in the entire process from application to selection.

In addition, we are simultaneously working on recruitment-related projects, such as onboarding initiatives, and are proactively involved from planning to execution

The team consists of a small number of members: one supervisor and two team members.
We work together with the supervisor on a daily basis, coordinating our decisions on "what is best" and "how we should proceed."

  • The interesting aspects of this job

The interesting thing about this job is being able to build an organization in a situation where there are no right or wrong answers

What left the biggest impression on me was the experience of truly understanding the company's Purpose and MVV (Mission, Vision, Values/the company's mission, goals, and guiding principles).
Until then, I thought I understood them, but there was something about them that I hadn't quite grasped personally, but for the first time, it really clicked for me.

Since then, I've been able to make decisions from the perspective of "is this the right thing to do for the company?", and I've become less hesitant about my work.
I feel that because of the environment that allows for autonomy, I've been able to act with a sense of purpose while still having my own opinions.

  • Difficulties I've faced, and things I've overcome

On the other hand, what was challenging was having to work without a predetermined correct answer.
In my previous job, I was required to accurately perform the tasks assigned to me, but at this company, even for the same tasks, I need to think for myself about "how to increase their value."

At first, I was confused because I didn't know what was expected of me or how far I should think things through, but I started to focus on clarifying the purpose of the work and then working backward from there

Nowadays, I'm able to prioritize tasks not just in front of me, but from a company-wide perspective, and approach my work with an awareness of creating added value

  • Things I want to try in the future

Going forward, I aim to become someone who can contribute to the entire company, not just within my own area of responsibility, but across departments and roles

I want to contribute to building a better organization by turning my ideas and aspirations into reality

In the future, we want Tomizawa Shouten to become a company that people say, "When you think of confectionery and bread making, think of Tomizawa Shouten ," and to spread the value of our company, which originated in Machida, not only throughout Japan but also to the world

To those considering applying

Our company offers a growth-oriented environment for those who can think and act independently.
On the other hand, those who lack a clear goal or prefer to wait for instructions may find it challenging.

Also, many people initially struggle to understand the role expected of them

However, this also means you have the freedom and discretion to think and act for yourself.
We also have an environment where you can communicate and think together with others.

We would love to work with people who have a desire
to create value through their own efforts and to achieve something significant
